NETL Researchers Win National
Award
Evan
Granite and Henry Pennline of the U.S. Department of Energy's National
Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) received the 2005 Award for
Excellence in Technology Transfer from the Federal Laboratory Consortium
(FLC) for Technology Transfer. The award recognizes laboratory employees
who have accomplished outstanding work in the process of transferring
a technology developed by a federal laboratory to the commercial
marketplace. Evan and Henry were honored for their efforts to commercialize
the application of short-wave ultraviolet radiation for the control
of mercury emissions from flue gas. Powerspan has licensed the technology
(Photochemical Oxidation, or PCO)
for application to coal-fired power plants. NETL was recognized
at an award ceremony May 4, 2005, at the FLC national meeting in
Orlando, Florida. Source: National Energy Technology Laboratory.
