Clean Coal and Power
Conference
Powerspan presented at the opening plenary session and at
a session addressing new technologies for existing power plants
at the Clean Coal and Power Conference held in Washington, DC, November
21-22, 2005. CEO Frank Alix was invited to speak in Monday's opening
plenary session with U.S. Senator Chuck Hagel; Prinicipal Assistant
Secretary for Fossil Energy, Mark Maddox of the U.S. Department
of Energy; and General Richard Lawson. Frank addressed the technology
needs and potential value of the existing coal-fired generating
fleet in a carbon constrained environment. Click

During Tuesday's session,
Powerspan's President Phil Boyle presented the results of the successful
commercial demonstration of ECO technology and commercial deployment
plans in a session addressing existing power plants. The 2005 Clean
Coal and Power Conference,organized by the U.S. Energy Association
and hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy, focused on political,
environmental, economic, and social issues associated with satisfying

ECO Commercial Demonstration
Open House
Powerspan, FirstEnergy, and the Ohio Coal Development Office/Ohio
Air Quality Development Authority hosted an open house at FirstEnergy's
R.E. Burger Plant on September 28, 2005, to showcase the successful
commercial demonstration of Powerspan's ECO technology at the plant.
Electric utility companies, engineering firms, regulators, elected
officials, and the media were in attendance.
Air Quality VInternational
Conference on Mercury, Trace Elements, SO3,
and Particulate Matter
Powerspan made a poster presentation featuring the PCO
process for elemental mercury removal from subbituminous coal at
Air Quality V. This event was held September 19-21, 2005, in Arlington,
Virginia. Air Quality V is a premier international conference for
mercury, trace elements, SO3, and particulate
matter in the environment and is focused on bringing together representatives
from industry, environmental groups, the research community, and

Electric Power 2005 Conference
& Exhibition
Powerspan made a presentation about the PCO process
for elemental mercury removal from subbituminous coal at Electric
