Western Fuels Symposium
Powerspan's VP of R&D Chris McLarnon presented a paper
regarding the PCO process for elemental mercury removal from subbituminous
coal. The Western Fuels Symposium was held October 12-14, 2004,
in Billings, Montana. Symposium co-sponsors included the Energy
& Environmental Research Center, in partnership with the U.S.
Department of Energy National Energy Technology Laboratory and the
Electric Power Research Institute.
Mega Symposium
Powerspan presented two papers regarding fertilizer co-products
and mercury removal at the Combined Power Plant Air Pollutant Control
Mega Symposium. The event was held August 30 - September 2, 2004,
in Washington, DC. CEO Frank Alix presented a market assessment
of fertilizer co-products produced from multi-pollutant control
processes while VP of R&D Chris McLarnon presented laboratory
test results of the PCO process for elemental mercury removal from
coal-fired power plants. Symposium co-sponsors include the Electric
Power Research Institute, U.S. EPA, U.S. Department of Energy National
Energy Technology Laboratory, and the Air & Waste Management

In July, Powerspan presented at Coal-Gen in Overland Park,
KS. CEO Frank Alix presented a market assessment of fertilizer co-products

construction, upgrade, operation and maintenance of coal-fired power

Conference & Exhibition
Powerspan presented at the Air & Waste Management Association's
annual meeting in Indianapolis, IN, on June 24, 2004. President
Phil Boyle presented an overview of ECO technology and an update
of the 50 MW ECO commercial demonstration unit at FirstEnergy's
R.E. Burger Plant. The conference theme was "Sustainable Development:
