Project Engineer I

We are currently looking for a Project Engineer I based in our Portsmouth, NH offices.  This person will participate in determining specific system and component performance requirements, set design criteria, performs analysis, and design reviews in accordance with established procedures. They will also work with vendors to establish the adequacy of specific materials and components, design tests, and perform and analyze test results.  They will be responsible for schedule and budget adherence with the portion of the project assigned.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Works with a team to establish task lists, work assignments, priorities, and schedules for projects.
  • Works with a team to determine and address all elements associated with project execution.  As part of that team, accept full responsibility to achieve project success.
  • Works with a team to establish operating and design parameters for components and systems.
  • Works with technical contacts at vendors to determine applicability of specific products to the needs of the project.  Determines how existing products might be modified or utilized differently than envisioned by the vendor to satisfy the needs of the project.
  • Designs, directs or performs testing to confirm the viability of materials, components, and systems for application in the project.  Analyzes test data and draws conclusions on material, component, and system performance and lifetime.

Required Background:

  • Must possess an Engineering degree.
  • Analytical skills to think outside the box.  Able to recognize opportunities to improve process, to assess the cost/benefits of the improvements, and to effectively communicate and implement those changes to the affected parties or departments.
  • Travel/Work Hours: Work hours will be dictated by the work at hand and is likely to include night and weekend work. Travel to customer sites and vendors required.
