IT Support Specialist
We are currently looking for an IT Support Specialist based in our Portsmouth, NH offices. The IT Support Specialist is responsible for setup, configuration and maintenance of network and telephone system hardware and software. Troubleshoots and fixes network and phone system related issues. Provides technical support and basic training for network users.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide and coordinate Help Desk support to all users in the company
- Install, configure and maintain network equipment.
- Deploy, maintain and support network power rectifying equipment.
- Provide basic network and phone system support. Troubleshoot LAN and VPN connectivity.
- Deploy, maintain and support all company’s copiers and printers.
- Maintain, support and administer internal applications: ERP, CRM and Document Control.
- Deploy, maintain and support Desktop operating systems in multiple site environments.
- Install, maintain and support MS Office and other productivity applications on the Network.
- Research, recommend and deploy software updates and upgrades.
- Perform basic programming and scripting tasks.
- Deploy, configure and support client side communication applications.
- Install, maintain and support client side threat protection software.
- Deploy, support and maintain PC-based data acquisition and instrumentation systems as required by R&D department.
- Assist in the license compliance program within the Company.
- Maintain complete and current inventory of Company-owned network equipment and software.
- Perform preventive maintenance of computer equipment and components.
- Develop network procedures for internal employees.
- Coordinate and perform relocation of computer equipment as necessary.
- Manage and maintain miscellaneous office equipment such as projectors, cameras, and scanners and fax machines.
Requirements:
- Knowledge and Skill: 2 + years of experience supporting comparable in size and functionality network. Solid understanding of networking protocols. Strong problem – solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and provide optimal solutions. Must have good oral and written communication skills. Individual must be professional, customer service- and team-oriented, able to multi-task, attentive to details, eager to take responsibility. Work experience in maintaining 24x7 production environment is a plus. Recent networking and computer related certifications are a plus.
- Physical: Must handle movement of network equipment. Intermittent physical activity including bending, reaching and prolonged periods of sitting. May be required to work extended periods of time at a computer.
- Travel/Work Hours: Work hours will be dictated by the work at hand and is likely to include night and weekend work. Ability to connect remotely and work from home may be required. Workweek may be split between different offices. Travel to other Company locations may be required.
